SUPPORT THE FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER
This site is devoted to creating new resumes and assisting individuals in attaining their career goals and objectives; however, this blog will be one exception . . . My selfless wife has joined the fight against breast cancer and is participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-day fundraising event. She needs support to reach her fundraising goal of $2300. Each participant of this event was required to write a story regarding their direct/indirect experiences with individuals fighting cancer. Below is her story Welcome and thank you for taking the time to join our efforts in fighting for the cure! My team members have many personal stories to share about each persons individual experiences with breast cancer and each of us has our own reasons for wanting to participate in the walk. However, our goal is the same and we are committed to being a part of finding a cure for a disease that effects so many women and men. "Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and it is the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide." In my personal journey of caring for a friend, sister, and co-walker, Diana Harrington, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I found myself surrounded by many very young brave women who were fighting their own battles with breast cancer. I had the great pleasure of meeting an angel named Xiomara Brens, who at the age of 34 lost her fight with breast cancer. I met a fighter, Mary DeCastro, who continues her battle against breast cancer at the age of 40. And I met a survivor, who at the age of 22, was one of the youngest woman in the state of Florida to be diagnosed with breast cancer and she has been declared in remission. Each woman provided me with a lesson to be learned and helped me discover a purpose in life and for my cause. Our team is working hard to raise all of the money necessary for each of our teammates to raise $2300 in order to qualify for the walk. We are training and constantly seeking ways to keep the effort moving forward. Thank you for supporting me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day TM is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds from the 3-Day walk are invested in breast cancer research and community programs. Your support is crucial to our success.
